There is considerable speculation that the US and UK want to get involved in the situation in Georgia. How many more foreign excursions can we stand!

Ossetia was a part of the USSR. It was split in half when Georgia broke away and the South Ossetians always wanted to be part of Russia...not Georgia.

Georgia is a US puppet state, established by the "Rose" revolution (like the "Orange" in Ukraine, etc). The Georgian head is a US trained lawyer. Georgia is the route for the only gas pipeline from Azerbaijan that doesn't go through Russia. Georgia wants to be in NATO...and the EU.

In 1962, the US nearly went to war with the USSR for them putting missiles in Cuba...explain to me the difference between US support of Georgia & Ukraine, US bases in Czech Republic, Baltic States in NATO...and missiles in Cuba???

Russia provided peace keeping troups into South Ossetia a few months ago after clashes between separatists and Georgian troups...Georgia has now attacked the Ossetians and the Russian troups...were they provoked, attacked first? Who knows - who cares!

We must stay out of this...it really is nothing to do with the UK, we have no interests, no reason to be there. We must get away from blindly following the US into international folly and get back to doing what is best for us, for the people of this country and not engaging in "policing the world" trying to force our view of democracy, economics (cos that works, eh?) etc etc onto all and sundry.

The people of Europe do not want this abominable Treaty. Europe was supposed to be a trading club, not a political hegemony.

The European Parliament is a sham and the decisions are already made by unelected commissioners, this Treaty would make that worse.

Irish "NO" vote to be ignored?

The BBC are already reporting that the UK "government" are going to press ahead with ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, despite the clear message sent by the Irish people - the only ones given a democratic voice on the issue.

Where is the democracy in the UK? We are continuing to see the steady loss of sovereignty and the loss of OUR voice in Westminster, let alone Brussels. Europe was to be a trading club, now its a vile fascist political monstrosity that controls our lives in every facet.

We must stop this Treaty, we must stop the expansion of power in an unelected Commission.

Magna Carta, Bill of Rights, Habeas Corpus

The final vestiges of true democracy and freedom disappeared last night, ending 800 years of liberty in England.

Clause 29 of Magna Carta says that no freeman shall be taken or imprisoned or have his liberties removed but by lawful judgment of his peers. Detention for 42 days without trial essentially abrogates this clause and removes 800 years of a basic civil liberty: the right to due process.

The 42 days proposal makes it legal to hold someone without proving their crime so habeas corpus is gone.

A disasterous day for democracy. Dirty deals, compensation payments, Irish water rates - this is how cheap it is to buy off certain MPs.

Hopefully the Lords will have rather more moral fortitude and will stand by the rights of the people in this country.

And hopefully we can remove these snivelling cunts from power at the earliest opportunity.

How dare parliament attempt to take away the right to freedom of its masters - US.

The State is supposed to serve the people, not be the instrument of their imprisonment. George Orwell must be turning in his grave at the impending rush to 1984 in this country.

Well done to the MPs (including the 36 Labour rebels) who did vote against but the rest of the cunts in the Commons can go hang. Treasonous cunts of the highest order.

I really hope that the Lords savage this bill - slowly, line by line, and throw it back to the commons - again and again - until this horrid snotgobbling wanker is removed from No. 10.

Let's demonise the parents

So the Home Secretary, the delightful Jacqui Smith (Adolf to her friends) wants to criminalise the parents of young people who dare to drink alcohol in public. What a stupid cow.

Apparently the proposals include handing police tougher powers to disperse "gangs" of youngsters congregating in public. I'm sure those powers would never be used to stop legitimate protests or gatherings? Ministers then urge greater take-up of existing policies to confiscate alcohol and disperse groups of people.

Parents who don't get their children to "change their ways" will be subject to state interference

Adolf : "Parents must play their role. I want to see greater use of parenting orders and parenting contracts and anti-social behaviour orders when young people are caught persistently drinking in public. If parents and children need to meet a trained worker to get them back on the right track then so be it."

So parents, who aren't allowed to discipline their kids now, will be held to account for the actions of 15,16,17 year olds when they are out. That's going to work isn't it! Twat.

And the taxpayer will be funding the bill for all these trained workers of course. No. No more tax funded social engineers thank you.

Alcohol is not the problem here, it is the abuse of the substance by undisciplined idiots who go on to cause damage/theft/assualt etc. So how about, stop having the police fill in forms to deal with ethnic diversity, equality, quotas and targets, and put them on the street on a Saturday night with instructions to catch people who actually commit crime - or, radically, perhaps they should talk to people and identify the youngsters who are getting too boisterous and suggest to them that they've had enough - prevention etc.

Simply demonising kids and parents for drinking will achieve nothing except soundbites for the radio and TV.

Something Fishy...

Heard an EU Commissioner this morning explaining that governments in Europe couldn't do anything to help the fishing industry by reducing their costs for buying marine diesel. They couldn't reduce the price, or the tax burden involved because "it would be providing an illegal state incentive" to the fishermen.

Which is fine. I'm all in favour of not favouring one industry over another.

But why is that "illegal" but the opposite is perfectly ok?

The EU imposes maximum catches, quotas, restrictions and taxes taxes taxes - and then allows imports from countries without those restrictions to keep prices low. Why should restrictions of trade be right, but promotion of local industries be wrong.

We live in a fucked up superstate!

Why not simply allow people to work and trade in a free way, let the market find the prices for things and let consumers choose what they buy and at what price.

EU Parliament to Create Elitist Facebook for MP's

BBC PM today reported on plans by the EU Parliament to release their own social networking site, to rival Myspace and Facebook, but aiming solely at MEPs and MPs from member country's. This will "allow more discussion" and "help with integration" apparently.

There's not much info immediately available but the site is going to be called (imaginatively) MyParl and is being launched in October and will be edited by one Daniela Vincenti-Mitchener who claims that MyParl "aims to create an online space to facilitate debate between national and European parliamentarians of the 27 EU Member States".

MPs and MEPs are clearly so special that they need a dedicated site. Now I've always managed to talk to people quite happily on the existing sites. Which are free, in case you hadn't noticed.

BBC statement was that MyParl is going to cost over £3m.

Another great use of our hard earned taxes. If there's one group of people I hate more than our MPs, it's our MEPs.

NICE, my arse

My first real post, and directed at an organisation that is sure to feature here again - NICE. Those lovely folks "The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence". These and the corrupt twats that decide whether the NHS funds particular drug treatments etc.

Today, they have decided that it would be a really good use of doctors time to go trawling through their records of patients to find some that might, one day, maybe, perhaps be marginally more likely to suffer from heart disease etc - and then to contact the patients to offer them drugs (Statins to be precise).

Hm. Fuck off. Was the first thing in my head. Let doctors treat the sick not do research and waste time (paid for by the taxpayer of course) looking for healthy people to harrass. I listened to this idiot wobbling on about how 1.5m people were potentially at risk and could be helped by this campaign, and it will only cost £34m and as a proportion of the drugs budget of over £7bn thats a tiny fraction.

How £34m can be termed tiny I'll never understand. Here's a radical idea. Why not save the £34m until someone actually needs the drug?

Further, apparently Statins only work in 1-2% of cases anyway, so it's £34m to treat 1.5m people, only 15-20 thousand of whom would be helped by it anyway and none of whom have actually asked for drugs.

Stunning. No wonder the NHS is creaking and unable to cope. It has to live with government mismanagement, new priorities every week, no stability and then has cretins like this bunch deliver pathetic ideas of even more ways to put taxpayers money into the hands of the drugs companies by treating people who aren't sick and don't want it. How much of an infringement of liberty?

I can't imagine why anyone would want to read any of my outbursts, but a few people have said I need to share, so here I am.

I've not done this before, never even written a diary.

Having been "normal" for many years my political (and life in general) disgruntlement finally boiled over a couple of years ago and I've been trying to figure out what I was ever since. Finally decided that I'm an Anarcho-Capitalist but theres not much chance of achieving that as an aim in Britain now!

Perhaps I'm a Libertarian? Maybe. Not sure. Still considering.

In the meantime, I guess I'll vent my spleen here occassionally.
